0 days since an article about Paul Pogba's impending Man United transfer.

Just once I'd like that ticker to get to one. Just to see what it would be like. Alas, there are some stories in this morning's news about why the Paul Pogba saga is dragging on so long.

By all accounts, everything has been agreed, even who pays the agent, who ties Pogba's shoes in the morning, and who picks him up after training. The powers that be though have just decided that they enjoy seeing Paul Pogba's name in the paper every morning, and are going to wait for the Frenchman to finish his holiday whenever he likes and join his old club for a stupid about of money.

So essentially the papers have realised this, which is why there are so many headlines like:

Paul Pogba pursuit set to drag on for Manchester United

That's despite Pogba's agent denying everything on twitter:

Unfortunately for fans of teams outside of Manchester, 80% of the transfer news comes from Lancashire. Pep Guardiola has made the unusual move of actually telling us his transfer targets. As you would have heard about - John Stones is one of those. City have made a final offer to Everton for the young defender, and they are also after young winger Leroy Sane (Manchester Evening News)- who is meant to be InSANEly good. Sorry, not sorry.

Not content with ex-Spurs players Gylfi Sigurðsson and Kyle Naughton, Swansea City have now turned their attention to former Tottenham transfer targets. This time, it's ancient striker Fernando Llorente to re-establish their Spanish contingent (Mail).

The Mail also have the bizarre story of the new Aston Villa owner throwing his toys out of the pram after Everton triggered the release clause of Idrissa Gueye. Xia is unhappy that last season's £9 million signing will be leaving for the clause of £7.1 million after relegation:

For some reason, the Mail described it as a cryptic tweet.

In other news of players returning to their old clubs for a fortune, Chelsea want Romelu Lukaku again:

Gianluca di Marzio has good news for Liverpool fans - Milan are interested in Mario Balotelli again. And no, this is a new news story.

Riyad Mahrez is more and more likely to stay at Leicester. He wants a £100,000 a week contract, and Claudio Ranieri says he's 100% sure he's staying. (BeIN Sports)
