49ers Cheerleader Takes A Knee During US National Anthem

During an NFL match between the San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland Raiders on Thursday, a cheerleader for the 49ers appeared to take a knee during the US national anthem, causing much debate online.


The 49ers are the former home of Colin Kaepernick who controversially took a knee in protest during the national anthem in 2016, to highlight the racial injustice of black people in America.

Back in May, the American football league said NFL teams will be fined if their players kneel during the anthem.

This is the first time a cheerleader has kneeled in protest during the national anthem.

As of right now the cheerleader's identity is unknown, and there has been dissenting views for her actions online:

Neither the NFL or the 49ers have yet to comment on the cheerleader's actions.
