The 49ers are the former home of Colin Kaepernick who controversially took a knee in protest during the national anthem in 2016, to highlight the racial injustice of black people in America.
Back in May, the American football league said NFL teams will be fined if their players kneel during the anthem.
This is the first time a cheerleader has kneeled in protest during the national anthem.
As of right now the cheerleader's identity is unknown, and there has been dissenting views for her actions online:

That well-paid little prima dona cheerleader has a right to say what she wants as long as it's legal. But please don't pretend her dropping to her knee hoping someone will notice so she'll get famous makes her a hero. How many networks are scrambling as we speak to get her on air

As a combat Vet I totally support this cheerleader for exercising her right. That’s what I served for ?

Tell her to MOVE TO THE COUNTRY OF HER CHOICE.

Taking a photo during the National Anthem is as disgraceful as that cheerleader kneeling. Oh, btw, her ID access card to the 49ers facilities will be locked before the end of the game. Way to take a stand, or a knee...good luck looking for employment like Kap!

What exactly did her taking a knee accomplish? What did any of them taking a knee accomplish besides dividing the country and pissing off our servicemen and police who risk their lives for us every day? Maybe we should just disban both and reduce taxes since we don’t need those

It's amazing how many ppl who've never served are outraged by a kneel and say its disrespectful to troops, yet ignore when vets speak out and say they support the protest.

Neither the NFL or the 49ers have yet to comment on the cheerleader's actions.
