There’s certainly been a few more disappointments on the Road to WrestleMania this year than I would have liked to see but there were also a few standout moments that have lead me to look forward to some matches on the card. Here are 5 things this fan is most looking forward to at Wrestlemania this weekend.

5. Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho

The friendship between the two and eventual betrayal of Chris Jericho by Kevin Owens has been the lead program of Monday Night Raw since before SummerSlam and it looks as if the feud will finally come to a head at WrestleMania. I think these two have the potential to steal the show if they’re given enough time and I am expecting Kevin Owens to pick up the victory to capture the United States Title from Jericho.

4. The Undertaker vs Roman Reigns

For the past two years, every fan over the age of 10 has booed the absolute shite out of Roman Reigns every single time he makes his way to the ring and they don’t stop until he finally heads to the back. I think it’s taken on a life of its own now and I can’t see that dying before the weekend.

The reason I am looking forward to this is because I am intrigued to see how the audience will react if Vince decides to give Roman the win and how he will in turn react to the no doubt negative response. I won’t be mad if Roman wins this match as the Undertaker is a man in his 50’s who does not move too well anymore and Roman is in the prime of his career.

Then again, he is The Undertaker so who knows what will take place…

3. AJ Styles vs Shane O Mac

I know that Shane isn’t known for wrestling one on one matches without any stipulation, while on the other hand AJ Styles is without a doubt the best wrestler in the world today. That’s the story they finally got around to telling this week on SmackDown Live and I am expecting a great match from these two for a few reasons.

AJ is so damn good that he will be able to not only put on an entertaining match but make Shane look like the million bucks he’s worth when he does get to lay in the offense or he starts a comeback sequence There’ll no doubt be shenanigans and ref bumps in this one so that Shane can do something outrageous too. And I can somehow never look away when Shane does these things.

I’d still much rather see AJ take on Bray Wyatt for the WWE Title but at the end of the day at least he is on the show.

2. Triple H. Seth Rollins. Non-sanctioned match.

This is another one that’s been building since SummerSlam and that’s the main reason to watch the final face-off between Triple H and the injured Rollins. It’s non-sanctioned because Rollins is currently injured but doesn’t want to sit out from WrestleMania two years in a row.

Now, he was genuinely injured and still appears to be but he has been taking some nasty shots from Triple H to the knee, albeit with a gimmicked crutch, so I am sure there will be some physicality and street fight style action in this one. Samoa Joe will no doubt make an appearance at some point and it’d be a nice surprise if Seth is fighting fit so that he can go without limitations.

Whichever way it turns out it should be entertaining.

1. Raw Women’s Championship

Bayley vs Sasha Banks vs Charlotte Flair vs Nia Jax will be taking place in an Elimination Match for the Title in a potential show stealer, one that I am most looking forward to. The women have been the best part of Raw over the past year and the elimination stipulation adds a nice twist for them to work with. The story is, Bayley and Sasha are pals but Sasha wants the title and has maybe been using Bayley to get back to it.

Charlotte, Bayley and Sasha were pals but now Charlotte is on her own and has been becoming the most successful women’s wrestler of this generation. And Nia is just a wrecking machine on a path of destruction. I hope that Bayley retains the title here but anything can happen.

The show will start at midnight on Sunday with a kick-off show featuring HBK, Booker T and Jerry Lawler having started 2 hours prior to that and also including 3 matches. I think that the work the performers do will be outstanding as always and I hope that the wrestlers who pick up the victory do so in a way that makes them look like bona fide stars coming out of WrestleMania and into the next year of WWE TV.
