It takes something special for opposing fans to give you a standing ovation.

That's what happened to Cleveland's Austin Jackson on Monday night, when he silenced Boston's Fenway Park, with an unbelievable catch against the Red Sox.

Trailing 7-5 in the bottom of the fifth inning, Boston's Hanley Ramirez looked set to score a home-run and cut the deficit to a single score, but Jackson had other ideas.

Running towards the Red Sox bullpen in the backfield, Jackson jumped up onto the back wall to catch the ball, but the impact flipped him into the opposition's area, on front of the home fans.

Somehow he was able to hold on to the ball, leaving Ramirez stunned. The television footage clearly showed the Red Sox player in disbelief at what he saw.

Such was the surprise at Jackson's catch, Boston player Craig Kimbrel revealed after the match that he was in the middle of jogging over to catch the ball, but Austin Jackson clearly had other ideas.

I was actually running to try to go catch it, and then all of a sudden, he is flipping over our fence. You really didn't know how to react. It was such an amazing catch, you want to start clapping.

While Johnson's catch will be in highlight reels for years to come, it was ultimately in vain. Cleveland lost the match 12-10.
