University of Washington wide receiver John Ross has well and truly made a name for himself at the NFL draft combine today, as he smashed the record for the fastest ever 40-yard dash time.

For those unaware, the NFL draft combine invites some of the best talents in college football to have their physical attributes evaluated by NFL scouts ahead of the draft, and the record for the quickest 40 time was previously held by Chris Johnson of the Arizona Cardinals which stood since 2008.

Speedsters are understandably highly sought-after when it comes to the NFL draft, and for his handiwork Ross is now expected to be a first-round pick.

He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.22 seconds.

Frightening.

What was first listed as an unofficial time has since been confirmed, placing Ross at the top of the list of fastest players ever to run the drill at the combine.

It will be interesting now to see where Ross ends up come draft night, as not only did the scouts take note, but so did many of the NFL's current starts.

Including the former record holder.

NFL stars really love an emoji.

A good day at the office for John Ross.
