HBO's 'Any Given Wednesday' with Bill Simmons hasn't exactly taken off over in the United States, as apparently the numbers are not what the network was hoping for after securing the former Grantland journalist, but that doesn't mean it can't offer up some fascinating interviews.
One example was the quick-fire questions directed at legendary New York rapper Nas, and Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant.
Simmons was not shy in pressing Durant on how he felt about the reaction to his move to the Warriors, which was one of the most talked about sporting decisions this summer, but we also got an interesting insight from Nas who revealed what he would have said to Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls if he could go back in time.
Also, for anyone who has seen 'Above The Rim', an incredible basketball film starring Tupac, Simmons suggested that Nas and Durant team up for the sequel:
You could see the regret in Nas' eyes as he said he wished he got the chance to collaborate with those two legends of hip-hop.
As for Durant, his views on LeBron James and how he is thankful to have someone driving him on is admirable. It's also good to see that he is able to let the hate thrown his way over the Warriors move pass him by, as he is going to get a whole lot more of it as the new season starts.
Great stuff from 'Any Given Wednesday', the show doesn't air in Ireland being on HBO, but there are other methods to view such a show and if one was considering watching we would recommend this episode in particular.
