This story of Doc Ellis is one our most favourite things that ever existed here at Balls Towers, it goes way way back to June 12th 1970 and this video explains the whole event in beautiful technicolour. Remember it was the 70?s and LSD was pretty popular, poor old Doc had over indulged some. Ellis was reminded little under five hours before he was due to start against the San Diego Padres, that not only was he in the wrong city but it was not Thursday but Friday afternoon.
