Now that Seth Rollins has been confirmed to be out of action for 6-9 months due to a torn ACL, MCL and medial meniscus, WWE's script writers have been flat to the mat re-writing their plans through to Wrestlemania next spring.

The WWE championship has of course been vacated by Rollins and despite the fact that the WWE announced there will be a tournament at Survivor Series to crown a new champ, rumours are now circulating that something big could even happen on the taped episode of Raw next Monday.

Survivor Series is not until 22 November so they have a little bit of time to decide on things but if there were to be a tournament at the pay per view then it could scupper other matches that have already been promoted.

Rollins had be written into the title picture - whether he lost the championship at Survivor Series or not - up until to next year's Wrestlemania at least so now the slate is clean it will be interesting to see what direction WWE takes it.  Most would say Roman Reigns winning the tournament for the vacant title would be far too predictable but that hasn't stopped the WWE in the past.

Meanwhile The Big Show has replaced Rollins on their European tour.
