'Tupac' At Boston Garden Was Like When 'Jesus' Was At The Darts

'Tupac' At Boston Garden Was Like When 'Jesus' Was At The Darts

The Boston Celtics were 30 points down against the Golden State Warriors when a bloke with a Tupac-style headband appeared on the Jumbotron. He also bore an uncanny resemblance to the long-dead rapper, which sparked the previously sullen crowd into life, as "Let's go Tupac" rang around the Garden.

Apparently it's not the first time he's been to a Celtics game, and as Deadspin point out, it would make more sense for him to be a fan of a West Coast team. The Warriors won 108-88.

This is very much like the time a bloke who looked a bit like Jesus was at the darts, and had to leave because play  was interrupted by incessant "Stand up if you love Jesus" chants.

In December 2012, Nathan Grindal was ejected from the final of the Players Championship at Butlins, Somerset, when his appearance was mocked by the raucous crowd. In tears, he was led to a nearby pub to watch the rest of the match, and was bought a pint by the organisers for his trouble.

Speaking to the daily Mail at the time, Grindal said: “I didn't go to the darts dressed as Jesus - I went as me.

“I was evicted for something I have no control over. I felt discriminated against.”
