For at least a year now many WWE fans have been lauding Smackdown as the superior show, in comparison to its flagship Raw. Last night's Smackdown Live proved yet again why this might be the case.  The show opened with new United States Champion Kevin Owens congratulating himself on his title victory over AJ Styles at the latest WWE PPV: Battleground, and giving himself a well deserved night off. AJ Styles had other ideas and demanded a rematch clause.

Styles v Owens is already one of the biggest feuds on the show at the minute but when Owens was cut off mid-promo last night by another unwelcomed guest, things ratcheted up a notch. Queue the latest return of WWE Legend Chris Jericho, who also demanded a title match. Jericho, who has been been on the injured list since Owens defeated him for the US Championship in May, miraculously overcame his ailments just about the same time that his band Fozzy's tour has quitened down.

This led to Smackdown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon setting the night's main event as a Triple Threat match for the United States Championship which turned into a fantastic match between three of the top stars in the company.

The complete results from last night's Smackdown Live were;
