WTF Was John Cena's Romantic/Creepy TV Plea To Nikki Bella?

If you're looking for some flagrant and inconsequential gossiping then you've come to the right place! Park your 'Why is this news?' and 'Who cares?' comments at the door because we're about to take a deep dive into the mad mad world of John Cena and Nikki Bella's break-up. Enter at your own risk.

In case you haven't been aware of what was going on, here's the skinny: WWE stars John Cena and Nikki Bella were due to be married this month, only for the whole wedding to be called off at the last minute. Cena's name has been synonymous with wrestling over the last 15 years but the Nikki and her sister Brie have some serious star power too, fronting their own reality TV show Total Bellas. The new season of the show begins this Sunday and of course, everyone is waiting witht bated breath for the inside story of what happened.

However, shit just got even more complicated with John Cena going full Hugh Grant and baring his heart live on television yesterday. He told Kathie Lee and Hoda - both of whom I admittedly had never heard of before - on the Today show that "I still love Nicole, I still would love to marry Nicole, I still would love to have a family with Nicole."

Well what do you make of that!? He continued:

There was an unfortunate set of circumstances where our relationship ended. There's been a lot of speculation recently about me being seen in public, and everyone's been like, 'Oh John Cena's enjoying the single life.' No, I was supposed to be married and have a honeymoon over these two weeks.

I am in my house alone surrounded by these emotionally strong memories. And every day from 6 to 9 I get out of the house and talk to strangers as social interaction.

I don't want anybody else. I love Nicole and I'm really trying to support her in her trying to find whatever it is she wants that made this fall apart in the first place.

Yes, John Cena is apparently wandering the streets for three hours a day, stopping random people for a chat.

So this tv appearance is either:

a) Very romantic and should be turned into a movie
b) A bit creepy and is basically trying to publicly guilt her into getting back with him, or
c) A perfectly timed publicity stunt ahead of the new season of Total Bellas

Nikki was on the red carpet of some shite I can't be arsed researching, when she was asked to respond to his comments. She told the Extra reporter that she while she hadn't seen Cena's appearance, she was left 'speechless.'

She added 'I'm at a point in my life where I feel like I kind of lost me and I want to find me and work on me.' Have you tried looking between the cushions on the couch?

It should be worth noting that when she said 'The day I say my vows I want to say them once and I want to fully mean them' should really have been 'I want to say them once MORE' given she got married by an Elvis impersonator in Las Vegas when she was 20.

The clip below is the first bit of Total Bellas I've ever watched and I've got to tell you, I'm all in. The sudden change in tone of the background music is only topped by the frightenly fast ability of Nikki's brother to go from beginning to talk straight to storming out. His rage speed is so perfect for fitting into a short clip for online consumption.

Anyhow, what's going on with Cena and Bella? What was that about yesterday? Here's a needless poll:
