From an Irish perspective, it was a good year in WWE. Finn Balor made his much-anticipated move from NXT to the majors. The Bray native was drafted by RAW during the year. He would go on to become the first holder of the WWE's new Universal Championship belt. An injury would lead to him vacating the title shortly after.
