Aidan Harris Igiehon has narrowed his choice down to four prestigious colleges as he decides where to play NCAA basketball next year.

The Clondalkin teenager - a live prospect to one day play in the NBA - tweeted on Tuesday that he will be choosing between Louisville, Oregon, St John's and Kentucky.

All four are Division I schools, with Louisville having won a National Championship as recently as 2013.

He only took up the sport at the age of 12, soon experiencing a growth spurt that saw gain ten inches in under a year.

Now standing 6' 10", he moved to the US during his teens on a scholarship to play basketball at Lawrence Woodmere School in New York.

Speaking to the Irish Times last year, Igiehon said that the transition to playing at such a high level was at times difficult for him.

It was a big transition for me last year when I made the move over and I didn’t settle in right away. Socially, I settled in quickly but the athletic part of this transition was very difficult for me and it’s something I didn’t expect.

I struggled; I went from being a really good player in Ireland to being a not so good player over here.

Igiehon's play soon picked up, however, with him gaining the attention of college programmes throughout the US.

He is now a five-star recruit with ESPN currently have him ranked as the 36th best prospect in the 2019 class.

It has been reported that Kentucky are yet to actually offer a scholarship to the Irish youngster, although it is anticipated that they may do so in the coming weeks. If they do, they may well be the most appealing option.

The programme is led by renowned head coach John Calipari, and the school has an incredible record of seeing players progress to the NBA.

This year's NBA draft saw four Kentucky prospects selected, with other notable alumni including Anthony Davis and Karl-Anthony Towns.

Unsurprisingly, Igiehon's ultimate goal is to play in the NBA.

This is my dream and I want to make the NBA so I have to work even harder this year. School is fun but basketball is my life.
