Tyson Fury Storms Ring After Deontay Wilder Defends WBC Heavyweight Title

Deontay Wilder defended his WBC heavyweight title with a ninth round KO of Arthur Szpilka on Saturday night.

The WBC heavyweight belt is one of the few Tyson Fury did not win with his defeat of Wladimir Klitschko back in November. The IBF title, which Fury also won on that night in Dusseldorf - but was subsequently (and ridiculously) stripped of due to his refusal of a mandatory defence - was won by Charles Martin in the co-main event at the Barclays Center.

Post Wilder's retention of the title, who should show up in the ring but Tyson Fury.

The WBA, WBO and IBO champion had a question, partially sung, for the American.

There's only one Tyson Fury. What have you got to say about that Deontay?

Wilder hit back, calling Fury a 'phony'.

You're just a phony. This is just an act. You know where I am. You know what time, what place. I ain't scared of nobody, I'll come to your backyard, baby.

I don't play this. You should have been an actor. When we do step in the ring, this ain't wrestling, this ain't the WWE, baby.

When you do step in this ring with me - if you do because this should've been done a long time ago - you can run around like you're a preacher all that you want but when you step into that ring I promise you I will baptise you.

Make the date Tyson. Make the date.

Of course, a fight between Fury and Wilder taking place is dependent on the outcome of the British fighter's rematch with Wladimir Klitschko.
