You do have to take your hat off to the way Gareth Southgate has managed England. The former Middlesbrough player has really come to the fore when it comes to gelling a group of players together and creating a team spirit, which led his team to a semi-final appearance at the World Cup last summer.

But Southgate's latest admission may just leave you wondering if England have really lost the plot with their whole 'great team spirit' vibe.

Southgate alluded to the team's togetherness in his latest press conference, amazingly telling journalists that the team are so close that a when the team were relaxing a photo of the injured Danny Welbeck was placed beside the TV.

Jesus Christ Almighty. You'd swear he was dead. Granted the ankle injury he sustained against Sporting looked serious, but is it photo beside a TV serious? I doubt it.
