Watch: Harry Redknapp Savages "Disgraceful" Saido Berahino
Saido Berahino, briefly the future of English football, continues to endure an absurd plight. He hasn't scored a goal in more than two years, and while this seems like a cosmic aberration, Stoke manager Paul Lambert has found a more practical reason for the famine and has put Berahino on a bespoke programme to improve his level of fitness.
Speaking on BT Sport today, Harry Redknapp savaged Berahino for wasting his talent, calling him a "disgrace".
What a waste of talent. Never fit. What a disgrace.
He's got ability, when's he going to show it?
His manager comes out and says he's not fit enough to play. How sad is that? We're not talking about injuries, just physical fitness.
Michael Owen chimed in to agree, although in a more measured tone, agreeing that Berahino is one of the biggest wastes of talent he has seen.
You can watch it below.
There's more to it than driving a flash car. We never read anything good about this kid - he's driving a car at 100 and god knows how many miles an hour.
Behave yourself, dedicate yourself, it's 10, 12 years whatever it is to have the most fantastic career and earn a fortune.
You can go and do all these things later on in life, if you want to go out to nightclubs or whatever you want to do.
But dedicate yourself to being the best you can be as a footballer and if he doesn't then I've got no sympathy for him at all.
Every manager's not wrong, they're not idiots. Tony Pulis is not, Paul Lambert's not a fool. We're talking about good managers, good people who understand what it takes to be a top player.
This kid obviously isn't showing what it takes.
