Understandably, there was not an enormous number of Irish fans in Turkey tonight for Ireland's first international since the World Cup playoff against Denmark.
With RTÉ suggesting the number was slightly over the 300 mark, lets hope they found some enjoyment form their trip to the far end of Europe.
Football-wise, this was not a performance to savour. Martin O'Neill's side succumbed to a 1-0 defeat without really landing a glove on their opponents; Scott Hogan's first-half effort notwithstanding.
According to the video footage of some Irish fans in Turkey's chosen stadium in Antalya, the whole experience may have been something of a bust.

Contained behind caged wire, such divisions are not uncommon in large-scale football stadia.
However, compared to the more appealing perspex glass panels, this caged wire does not exactly create the kind of welcome atmosphere one may prefer.
