The Mirror claim that Jurgen Klopp will raid the South Coast in order to bolster his midfield in January.

Pascal Gross is the player in question, with the report stating that the Reds will have to part with £15 million in order to secure the services of the German.

The 27-year-old has eight goals in 46 appearances, and finished last season with the Seagulls with seven goals and eight assists, being voted Brighton's player of the season in the process.

Liverpool tried to sign an attacking midfielder last season in Nabil Fekir, but pulled out of a deal with Lyon after concerns about an old knee injury. Gross is seen as a player who can fill the midfield void left by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as he continues to recover from a long term knee injury.

Gross has struggled with injuries himself this season, though Liverpool could definitely do with some proven Premier League experience in midfield, especially if the Reds continue into the latter stages of the Champions League.

Klopp has previously stated his admiration for the player, having previously watched him at Inglostat when he was in charge of Borussia Dortmund:

I have known him since he was a kid. He is a fantastic player that has made another big step physical wise.

He has a nice right foot, is good at set-pieces and a nice shooter. He is a smart player and I like him.
