It is four and a half years since that infamous moment, but current Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has decided to revisit the slip against Chelsea in April 2014 that proved costly during their ultimately unsuccessful title run.

Gerrard enjoyed a superb career, but despite a desperate longing, the Premier League trophy eluded him. In 2014 Liverpool came closest but a 2-0 loss against Chelsea ended their 11-game winning streak and eventually saw Man City clinch the title.

However, in an interview with the Daily Mail, Gerrard has revealed he shouldn't have even been playing that day due to a back problem and he required an epidural injection to manage the pain.

Don't think that is an excuse. What happened was just pure bad luck but, when you do a book or film, especially with people who have won Oscars and made films such as Amy (Winehouse) and Senna, you must be as honest and open as you can.

Gerrard later admitted the angst at his fall was obvious for all to see: "looking back, I didn't hide it well, did I?"

Gerrard's manager then is his opponent now, as Brendan Rodgers remains in charge of his cross-city rivals Celtic. Just two points separate the clubs, with Celtic in first position and Rangers third. The clubs will face each other before the year is out with the Old Firm derby set for 29 December.

While he never won the Premier League, he did win the Champions League, the Uefa Cup, three League Cups and two FA Cups. Now, his focus is on collecting silverware as a manager.
