'Lads, it's England' - Although Tony Adams is confident the country he represented 66 times will have a World Cup to enjoy in Russia, the Arsenal legend can't help but worry about one crucial detail; too many Tottenham Hotspur players.

Providing the most players of any Premier League club for Gareth Southgate's 23-man squad, if you consider that Kyle Walker enjoyed an eight-year spell with the club too, the Spurs influence touches as many as six English players.

Furthermore, they all look likely to play a role. In Harry Kane (Southgate's appointed captain), Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Kieran Tippier, as many as four Spurs players are likely to start the opening World Cup game against Tunisia - Danny Rose may well lose out to Manchester United's Ashley Young.

For Adams, this is not good news; "I'm really worried about these Tottenham players, I don't think they know how to win."

Speaking to the Sun newspaper, Adams, a commanding centre-half who spent his entire professional playing career with Spurs' North-London rivals Arsenal, doesn't necessarily believe that the stellar work being done by Mauricio Pochettino guarantees the production of winning-players; "They're very good players but at certain points in seasons and tournaments, you have to step up - there's a psyche players must have."

Ultimately, Adams would be a little bit more confident about England's chances if this Spurs bedrock offered a little more in terms of trophies won.

Despite overtaking their North London rivals in recent years and becoming a regular feature in the Champions League, without silverware, Adams isn't having it; "You must be able to handle winning emotionally and mentally, and if they don't know how to win it, they aren't going to win it."
