The injuries are beginning to mount for Dublin ahead of their tilt for a fourth-straight All-Ireland title. Jack McCaffrey is still working his way back to fitness following a serious knee injury sustained in last year's All-Ireland final, while Bernard Brogan is expected to miss out on the championship entirely with a cruciate knee ligament injury.

The Dubs have been dealt a further blow this morning by the news that All-Star sweeper Cian O'Sullivan has to have surgery on the shoulder injury he sustained against Kerry in the Allianz League last Sunday, in what was his first start of 2018.

Frank Roche of The Herald is reporting today that the surgery was a success, but O'Sullivan is likely to miss all of the Leinster Championship. The targeted return date is in time for the new Super 8s format garnishing the All-Ireland quarter-finals, which one would assume will feature the Dubs.

While Dublin will miss O'Sullivan - an integral part to Gavin's slick machine - it would be a major surprise if they didn't make it through Leinster without him: they haven't lost a game in the Leinster championship since 2010.
