Leitrim had been due to play Waterford in Division Four of the National Football League on Sunday afternoon. However, due to overnight snow, the game - along with many others - has been postponed.

At 8:32am this morning, the GAA tweeted that the match was off.

At that stage, Leitrim star Emyln Mulligan had already been two hours on the road to the game in Ardmore, Waterford.

"On the road since half 6 this morning," Mulligan wrote on Twitter.

"2hrs down the road on way to Waterford got word game was off. Grand. 2hr drive home, get word game may be on tomorrow at 2pm, same venue (9 hr round trip) Seriously! We just do what we’re told #joke"

As Monday is a public holiday, many of the games which were today postponed have been rescheduled for tomorrow. The problem for Mulligan: he is due to work tomorrow,

"The issue is that players don’t have a say," he wrote in reply to a Twitter user who asked what would be his solution to the recent fixture chaos caused by adverse weather conditions.

I’m working tomorrow. We’re amateurs at the end of the day and have lives outside football.

"Solution isn’t tomorrow," he added in another reply. "Wednesday night under lights half way? Play it in Carrick which has no snow. They knew yesterday snow was coming. Some of us have work tomorrow too."
