After a frankly disastrous appearance at the NBA All-Stars on Sunday night, Fergie has come out and issued an apology for one of the worst renditions of the US national anthem that has ever been heard by humans.

The Manchester United legend has spent some years out of the limelight, and many had hoped this comeback performance would live up to expectation but unfortunately it went horribly wrong. In a statement released last night, Fergie said:

I’ve always been honoured and proud to perform the national anthem and last night I wanted to try something special for the NBA. I’m a risk taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn’t strike the intended tone.

Interestingly, given the fact he's Scottish, Fergie said 'I love this country [the USA] and honestly I tried my best.'
