Johannes Vetter Makes Second-Longest Javelin Throw Ever

Johannes Vetter made the second longest javelin throw ever at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial meeting in Poland on Sunday.

The German launched the javelin 97.76m, a throw just 72cm short of Jan Zelezný's world record.

Zelezný's 98.48m record was set 24 years ago.

Vetter's previous best was 94.44m, set just over two years ago.

He followed up his monumental throw with another of 94.84m, which also beat his previous personal best.
