Rhasidat Adeleke is once again shining over Stateside as she ran a wind assisted sub 11-second 100 metres at the Texas Invitational yesterday.

Adeleke topped a strong field which included the 2019 200m world champion Dina Asher-Smith and reigning indoor 60m champ Julien Alfred, both of whom are her training partners at the University of Texas.

Rhasidat Adeleke runs blistering time in 100m race

She ran in a time of 10.84 seconds, but that was with a +3.5 metres per second wind, which is over the +2 limit. As a result, the run will not count towards Rhasidat Adeleke's personal record. It's unfortunate, as this run would've smashed the Irish record of 11.27 seconds which was set last year by Sarah Lavin.

Rhasidat Adeleke has formed a habit of making history in recent times. Over the indoor season she racked up the Irish records in the 60m, 200m and 300m, as well as being  part of the University of Texas relay team that ran a world record time in the 4x200m relay last month.

Next for Adeleke is the World Relays in Bahamas next weekend as she will part of the Irish mixed and women's team running in the 4x400m relay, where a top-14 finish will be enough to qualify for the Olympics in Paris this summer.

The European Championships in Rome will be next on the agenda before the Olympics, with Adeleke looking as though she has the ability to compete for medals in both the 200m and 400m.

Her focus will the quickly shift to the Olympics, and considering her current level of form, it's hard not to get excited about a potential medal for Rhasidat Adeleke.
