The 18-year-old Blackrock AC athlete finished second after Delia Sclabas of Switzerland.

Healy travelled to the championships having run the second fastest time by a European U20 this season. Just Mariana Machado had ranked ahead of the Dubliner.

It was Ireland's third medal of the championships. Earlier in the day, Darragh McElhinney added 5000m bronze to the heptathlon silver which Kate O'Connor had won on Friday.
