US luger, Kate Hansen, posted a video to Twitter yesterday of what looked like a wolf stalking the halls of the Olympic village. The video ended up on a load of websites and other media outlets and now has nearly 2 million YouTube views.

It emerged last night that the video was actually a hoax, fabricated by Jimmy Kimmel, the host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC. The show went to some extreme lengths to make the hoax believable, creating a replica of the Sochi accommodation where Hansen was staying.
It was a real wolf though, named 'Rugby'.
