Let's face it, there's not too much sport around this weekend so low and behold, didn't I find myself watching Russia take on USA in ice hockey at the Winter Olympics this afternoon. And I'll tell you what, it was bloody well brilliant!

The game finished in a tie but it wasn't without controversy as Russia had a late goal disallowed because the USA goalkeeper had moved the the net ever so slightly in a previous play.

So anyhooo, far be it from me to question the officials' decision in that but, a period of overtime later, we found ourselves staring down the barrel of a penalty shoot-out.

Now the rules of a shoot-out in ice hockey are slightly different in that once it goes to sudden death, a player is allowed to go again without waiting for the rest of the team to take one – as opposed to what happens in football.

The USA took every advantage of this rule, sending out TJ Oshie to take what seemed like 104 penalties in a row. The drama just kept going and going. Here's the full shoot-out for anyone who hasn't seen it.
