French athlete Mahiedine Mekhissi-Benabbad removed his singlet before clearing the final jump in the 3000m steeplechase at the European Athletics Championships. Mekhissi-Benabbad was clearly too good for his opponents and chose to rub their noses in it as he ran to victory. He was shown a yellow card by an official shortly after crossing the line.
Back in the RTÉ studio, Jerry Kiernan called him a "clown" and an "imbecile" but also a great athlete.
