30 years to the day since Eamonn Coghlan won gold in the 5000m at the World Championships in Helsinki, Rob Heffernan claimed gold for Ireland in Moscow by winning the 50K walk.
Rob suffered heartbreak by finishing fourth in the Beijing Olympics but triumphed today by 62 seconds in a finishing time of 3:37.56.
