This year, the Chicago Bulls and the Boston Celtics announced they would wear special green jerseys to help the NBA celebrate St Patricks Day.

The special green jersey is perhaps most striking with the Bulls, who normally play in red and black.

The Bulls play host the Denver Nuggets on Monday and have a host of St Patrick's Day related activities planned, including;

  • Irish-themed music and dance troupes
  • Halftime performance by the Trinity Irish Dancers
  • Bulls entertainers’ clad in St. Patrick’s Day gear
  • St. Patrick’s Day mugs for beer drinkers

The Celtics are clearly linked to all things Irish with the large Irish population in Boston, their logos and colours.  For Saturday's game with the Charlotte Bobcats though, the Celtics added gold numbers and lettering.

Don't worry if you're not a fan of thes teams, you can still buy a green 'St Patrick's Day' hoody for any NBA team.
