The San Antonio Spurs are NBA Champions after they steam-rolled their way through the Miami Heat in 5 games by winning the series 4-1, denying LeBron James & Co. their 3rd consecutive NBA title in the process.

The 104-87 scoreline was an indicator of how dominant the Spurs had become after Miami tied the series in game 2 at 1-1, and LeBron James was left to wonder what might have been after his team failed to rise to the challenge laid down by Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobli, and Kawhi Leonard in particular.

The Spurs bench strength was too much for Miami, with players like Thiago Splitter consistently making plays at key moments, like this block on Dwayne Wade in the 2nd quarter:

Manu Ginobli has been in imperious form throughout the finals, with these two 2nd quarter plays emphasising his importance to the team:

Legendary coach Greg Popovich has masterminded this Spurs championship win, and he had a quiet moment to himself:

Kawhi Leonard was voted NBA finals MVP for his defensive effort on LeBron James and his electrifying offensive play, which was clearly a popular decision amongst his team-mates:
