Rutgers head basketball coach, Mike Rice, was fired today after a video aired on ESPN showing him physically and verbally abusing his players. Rice was suspended for three games and fined $50,000 in November after Rutgers officials were shown the practice footage featured in the above video.

However, criticism from government officials in New Jersey forced the university to make a decision on the position of Rice.
