The fight itself probably didn't live up to the hype or intensity that the huge build up warranted, but in one of the biggest bouts in boxing history, Floyd Mayweather came out on top to preserve his remarkable unbeaten record.
Despite being just two fights away from former American heavyweight champions Marciano's record of 49 perfect fights unbeaten, Mayweather says he has just one more fight in him before he retires for good.
After a short 21 month retirement in 2010 and 2011 after his first fight with Pacquaio, Mayweather returned to the ring to continue his dominace that has seen him as a champion of his weight classes for the last 18 years.
As he no approaches 40, he says his last fight will be in September:
My last fight is going to be in September, Then it’s time for me to hang it up. I’m almost 40-years-old now. I have been in the sport 19 years. I have been the world champion for 18 years.
