Gennady Golovkin is now 33-0 in his professional career after defeating Willie Monroe Jr. on Saturday night. It was also the Kazakh fighter's 20th consecutive victory by knockout.

Golovkin had Monroe down three times during the fight. In the sixth round, and on the third occasion of touching the canvas, the American seemed like he had simply had enough of being hit.

Here's a replay of the stoppage.

Here's one of the knockdowns from earlier in the fight. That is vicious left hand.

The 33-year-old can count fellow middleweight title holder Andy Lee amongst his fans.

In the post-fight interview Golovkin said that he was ready to take on Canelo Alvarez or Miguel Cotto. Alvarez recorded a knockout of the year contender against James Kirkland last night.
