Steve Collins announced his plans to fight Roy Jones Jr back in January. Those plans have come a bit closer to becoming a reality after today's news that he has been granted a boxing licence.

It was thought the fight was dead in the water last month when, Steve's brother, Roddy, told the Irish Examiner that the fight would not be happening:

“But it’s dead and buried and I’m happy with that. It’s best to leave it be because Steve will always be the champ and at 48, it’s a non-starter."

Both Eastern Europe and the Middle East are both possible locations for the fight.
