'50,000 Wankers' - Tyson Fury Comes Out All Guns Blazing In Response To Critics

The outrage over Tyson Fury and his nomination for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award shows no signs of slowing down. Fury is not one to row back on his opinions so when he's asked about the reaction from the general population to his personal views in relation to his recent success, he's not likely to back down.

Sure enough when Fury was interviewed iFL TV this weekend, he was in no mood for grovelling apologies. The entire interview is, as always, compelling viewing but it's Fury's response to recent controversies that was always going to get the headlines.

Sure enough, in relation to the petition that has been circulating in an attempt to get the BBC to remove him from the nominations, Fury was up front with his feelings.

I can honestly say I’m not really interested in winning BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

I know for a million per cent I’ve got more personality in the end of my little finger than the whole of the nomination group put together. And everybody knows that. Everybody in the country knows that.

I’ve got more personality in my little toe than they’ve all got put together so if it comes to personality there’s only one winner. If it comes to sporting achievements there’s only one winner.

Fury also addressed the controversy in relation to the sexist views that he's entirely up front with and, unsurprisingly, he continued along similar lines.

My wife’s there. Her job is cooking and cleaning and looking after these kids. That’s it.

She does get to make some decisions. What she’s going to cook me for tea in a bit when I get home. That’s the decisions what she gets to make. That’s my beliefs, just like I believe in Lord Jesus Christ as my lord and saviour and if anyone wants to dispute that let them do it. Am I bothered? No.

My belief is that my wife should be at home looking after my kids and cooking and cleaning. She’s a very privileged woman to have a husband like me. Not everyone’s in her position but the ones who are are very lucky. That’s my opinion.

He may not win the SPOTY award but we'd suggest that's unlikely to make him change his views anytime soon.
