A great day for Irish boxing yesterday with 4 men in semi-final and all 4 winning through to the finals. While Paddy Barnes, John Joe Nevin and Michael Conlon all won medals in the Olympics last year, it is a first success for Donegal man Jason Quigley at senior level.  These great pictures from Sportsfile's Paul Mohan perfectly capture what it meant to him;

Quigley beat the number one seed and current World Champion Yehven Khytrov from Ukraine and now faces Bogdan Juratoni of Romania in the final fighting for gold.

John Joe Nevin continues to make history. The Olympic silver medalist became the first Irish boxer to win medals at European, World and Olympic level earlier in the week. He beat Russian Vladimir Nikitan in the semi and now faces Ukrainian Mykola Butsenko in the final, looking for the first gold medal of his terrific career.

Michael Conlon also beat a Russian oppenent in the semi final and now faces Welshman Andrew Selby in the final.  Selby is the current European champion.

Paddy Barnes easily won his semi final but today was ruled out of the final with a fractured nose forcing Barnes to accept silver.  The finals take place today
