Katie Taylor is still the undisputed lightweight champion of the world, and there was never any doubt that this would be the case at the end of the night once her fight with Karen Carabajal got underway.

The Bray woman was in complete control right from the first bell, controlling the pace of the fight and picking off her opponent who swung wildly at times. While the fight would go the distance, it was clear that she would come out on top via the unanimous decision.

This fight was always likely to be a fairly comfortable one for Taylor, with more difficult opponents on the horizon. Regardless of who she faces next, it is clear that she wants the fight to be in Croke Park.

Speaking on DAZN after the fight, Taylor's promoter Eddie Hearn said that her next fight had to be a homecoming at Croke Park. He feels that no fighter would deserve such an occasion more.

It's time to return to Ireland now. Whoever it is, wherever it is, Ireland has to be next for Katie Taylor.

She deserves it more than anyone, she has boxed all over the world. The Irish fans are incredible, they travel everywhere, Wembley, Madison Square Garden, wherever we have been.

It's time to give Ireland a sporting event they will never forget and that's the return of their hero: Katie Taylor...

We already had everything in motion with Croke Park, the authorities, and Brian Peters for September 15th this year, we wanted to go there for the rematch (with Amanda Serrano).

Amanda Serrano is saying all the right things now, time won't wait for Amanda Serrano. We hopes it's her, but whoever it is it's going to be a big fight and it has to be Ireland.

We've waited so long. We can create a night of boxing there that will never be forgotten. Honestly, nobody deserves it more than Katie Taylor, no one.

As you can guess, Katie Taylor would relish such an occasion.

Amanda Serrano is the obvious opponent, although she admitted that she wanted to fight in Dublin next time out regardless of who would be in the opposite corner.

It's 22 fights, 22 wins, still undefeated, still undisputed. That's what it's all about...

Regardless of whether it's Amanda Serrano or not, we want the fight at Croke Park in front of 80,000 people. Every single person here is going to be at it, it would be the biggest event in women's boxing history...

I'd have no problem stepping into the ring with any of those girls. I wanted to be tested with the biggest challenges, I believe I'm the best in the world. Whenever I step in here I love to prove it...

Thank you so much to the fans. It's been an amazing six years in professional boxing, but the best is yet to come. I can't wait for Croke Park next year, thank you so much!

It would be some night.

Having put women's boxing on the map at both an amateur and professional level, a return home for Katie Taylor is well overdue. Lets make it happen.
