Katie Taylor will once again get a chance to showcase her skills to a massive audience as she will will contest a WBA intercontinental title fight at Wembley on April 29th with the winner set to fight Cecilia Comunales for the organisation's world lightweight championship.

Comunales will be a tough task for anyone as the Uruguayan enjoys Diego Forlan levels of love in her home country, but up first is undefeated German fighter Nina Meinke who herself represents a step-up in comparison to Taylor's previous opponents.

There will be 90,000 fans packed into Wembley and millions more watching from home as Taylor will look to make a mark on the Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko undercard.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Taylor acknowledged that this is a massive occasion and admitted that she always dreamed of competing in Wembley, even if it wasn't always in a boxing match.

This is definitely next-level stuff, when I was younger I always dreamed of playing football someday in Wembley and scoring the winning goal but never thought I'd have the chance to actually box there some day.

It's an absolute privilege really and I just can't wait for it.

This will be Taylor's first 10 round fight as a pro, and it sounds very much like she is relishing the challenge.

Regarding her upcoming opponent, the Bray woman spoke highly of the German she will face on April 29th but it's clear she feels ready for the task at hand.

It definitely is a big challenge for me, this girl is unbeaten as well, she's a very hungry fighter, a very strong opponent so it's definitely a good step up for me but it's something that I'm relishing really.

Ever since I turned pro I wanted to be involved in big fights and big world title fights as well so I hope that this is the start of all these big fights for me.

She's a southpaw as well, which obviously is always a big challenge. She's a very good opponent, very strong, very fast, so it's a step-up but it's one that I'm ready for.

Taylor's promoter Eddie Hearn echoed those sentiments as he praised the German fighter before expressing what a great opportunity Taylor will have later this month.

No disrespect to her previous opponents but Meinke is on another level and has operated and been victorious on the big stage.

In just four fights, Katie has established herself as the most exciting female fighter on the planet but now we get the chance to see if she is ready for the world stage.

We can't wait, and it's made what had already promised to be an outstanding night of boxing even better.

Hopefully Katie gets her hand raised again and then we can look forward to the title fight we knew she was on the road to since her professional debut.
