Katie Taylor Slated For World Title Fight On Massive Anthony Joshua Card

It's been 3 years since Katie Taylor was a World champion.

After defending her title for a fourth time in 2014, her bronze medal at the 2016 World Amateur Championships signaled the moment she would finally turn professional.

With a 6-0 record so far, Taylor has embraced the transition seamlessly.

Working alongside Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Sport, the Bray woman is in good boxing company - Anthony Joshua is another client of the well-established boxing family business.

Having previously fought on the undercard of Joshua's world-title fight with Wladimir Klitschko in April at Wembley stadium, it has been announced that Taylor may shortly have the chance to be a World champion once again.

When Anthony Joshua defends his IBA and WBA heavyweight titles against Kubrat Pulev on October 28th in Cardiff's Principality stadium, the Irish Independent are reporting that,

It is also expected Katie Taylor will challenge for a World title on the undercard, [where] she is likely to challenge for the WBA World lightweight title.

In what would signal a meteoric rise for the Bray native in so short a professional career, Irish fans would be undoubtedly delighted to have Taylor back at the top of the boxing world.
