Manny Pacquiao Has Come Out With Some Sickening Comments About Gay Couples

Well fuck you Manny.

Suggesting that his long running feud with Floyd Mayweather was simply a case of good guy vs bad guy is simply ignoring reality. Having said that, there's no doubt that's how many of us would have felt about it. You had Mayweather ducking Pacquiao for years, coming up with excuses and finally fighting him when all the stars were aligned and the Filipino fighter had his eye off the prize.

An ignorantly simplistic overview but that's the view many will have taken. Floyd as the brash, offensive 'bad guy'. Manny as the lightly spoken, unassuming 'good guy'. However, there may soon be some retrospective reconsidering of those roles after the quite frankly sickening comments that Pacman has made to a Philippine TV station this week.

Pacquiao is running for a senate seat in his deeply religious homeland and it would appear that he's fully slurping at the teat of conservative nonsense in an effort to get elected. In an interview with TV5 this week, Pacquaio has laid out his beliefs on homosexuality and, as you can see, they're nothing short of disgusting.

It’s common sense. Do you see animals mating with the same sex? Animals are better because they can distinguish male from female.

If men mate with men and women mate with women they are worse than animals.

Unsurprisingly, those comments have caused quite the furore at home and abroad and Pacquiao has since taken to Instagram, posting this picture with his wife in an attempt to address the controversy. (Continued below)

As reported by AFP, the 37 year old is expected to to take one of the twelve nationally elected senate seats having gone all out on the religious ticket during his spell as a member of the Philippine House of Representatives. During that time, Pacquiao sought to prevent a bill that would deliver free condoms to poor people and it would seem his campaign for the senate is going along in a similar manner.

Despite the fact that talk of a rematch against Floyd Mayweather is unlikely to go away anytime soon, Pacquiao will take on Timothy Bradley for the third time in April in what is expected to be the final fight of one of boxing's most decorated careers. After these latest comments, it's fair to say that Bradley can expect a bit of a boost in his fanbase at the MGM Grand on April 9th.
