Michael Conlan will fight Vladimir Nikitin in Belfast on August 3rd.

The bout is being billed as a revenge fight for Conlan. It was the Russian who controversially defeated him in his final fight as an amateur at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

The 29-year-old Nikitin was signed by Top Rank last year. They are also Conlan's promoter.

"This is the fight I have wanted since that day [in Rio]," Conlan told BBC.

"It was probably the worst day of my amateur career. This will put my amateur career to bed.

"I'll finally be able to move on and achieve all the things I have set out to achieve."

The fight - which will be part of the Feile an Phobail festival - will be Conlan's 12th as a pro and his second to be held in Belfast. The 27-year-old previously defeat Adeilson Dos Santos at the SSE Arena last summer.
