The 'pride of all Ireland', Michael Conlan moved to 3-0 as a professional with his third KO victory on Saturday night, defeating Brisbane fighter Jarrett Owen on the undercard of Manny Pacquiao vs Jeff Horn.

Before the fight, Michael Buffer introduced the Belfast man as an Olympic gold medal champion, a forgivable mistake considering what when down in Rio last summer, but Conlan was never troubled on a hot night in Suncorp Stadium and got exactly what he wanted as he outclassed his opponent from the start.

While Owen's reluctance to engage made it difficult for Conlan to land a big shot to get the crowd involved, he constantly worked the body before turning it up in the 3rd.

In the end, Mick Conlan had to pretty much tell the ref that it was over, before landing a big hook to make sure everyone knew it was time to call it.

So it sounds like September 22nd for his next outing, and on tonight's performance there is absolutely no reason to miss that when it comes around.

Conlan said it best himself, with every fight he gets a little bit better, and the Irish fans who stayed up to watch got exactly what they wanted.
