Mike Tyson's new autobiography Undisputed Truth was released on Tuesday and it contains some incredible insights into a period in the fighter's career, during which, he says, he was “a full-blown cokehead”.

In the book, Tyson admits he was addicted to cocaine and marijuana and confesses that he was high in the build-up to and during certain fights. However, he had a method of getting around the drugs tests.

Speaking about how he had taken "blow" and "pot" before his June 2000 fight against Lou Savarese in Glasgow, Tyson says:

“I had to use my whizzer, which was a fake penis where you put in someone’s clean urine to pass your drug test.”

The former undisputed heavyweight boxing champion was once fined $200,000 after testing positive for marijuana after a fight against Andrew Golota in Detroit in October 2000. Tyson blames this on not being able to get his 'whizzer' from the member of his team who brought it to each fight.

The 47-year-old also reveals he had taken cocaine before the infamous January 2002 brawl with Lennox Lewis in a pre-fight press conference in New York.

Tyson, who also reveals in the book that he "wanted to kill" Evander Holyfield during the 1997 ear-biting incident, explains how he had made sense of his drug abuse.

“The history of war is the history of drugs. Every great general and warrior from the beginning of time was high.”
