TJ Doheny will make the first defence of his IBF super-bantamweight title later this month.
The Portlaoise native, who is based in Australia, will fight on the Demetrius Andrade vs Artur Akavov card at Madison Square Garden on January 18th.
It was announced on Monday that Doheny has signed with Matchroom Boxing.

The 32-year-old won the title in August when he defeated Ryosuke Iwasa in Tokyo.
His opponent for this month's fight is yet to be named. In a press release from Matchroom Boxing, it's said that current WBA super-bantamweight champion Daniel Roman is being targeted as a future opponent for Doheny.
"I’m delighted to welcome TJ to the team," said promoter Eddie Hearn.
"TJ is always in great fights and he is coming off a huge win in Japan to capture the title.
Doheny is 20-0 as a pro with 14 of those wins coming via KO.
