Former two-weight champion of the world Ricky Hatton could be considered quite the sporting raconteur, and has provided some thrilling stories of his experiences both inside and outside the ring throughout the years.

In an extract from his book, Hatton lashed out at former foe and current pound-for-pound superstar Floyd Mayweather, recalling a profanity-laced tale which gives an insight into Mayweather's infamous egotism.

'The Hitman' was travelling by private plane to New York in order to promote his 2007 fight with Mayweather, when he became aware that Floyd - travelling in a separate plane - was ordering his own pilot to overtake the Mancunian mid-air.

We'll let Ricky tell you the rest:

A few minutes into the the journey, we're chatting away, having a drink when the pilot gestures to me to come forward. 'Hey Ricky, listen to this idiot.'

He turns on the speaker and over the radio I hear Floyd arguing with the pilot of his plane behind: "I'm not letting that motherfucker get there before me, fucking overtake them!''

"We can't do that, Sir."

"Overtake that motherfucker - I'm the champ! I've got to get to New York first. I'll pay whatever you want."

Hatton goes on to do what he failed to in 2007, and closes his chapter on 'Money May' in classic Hitman style:
