RTE With Curious Little Dig At Paddy Barnes For His Twitter Use

RTE misjudged the public mood in their highlights package covering Paddy Barnes surprise loss to Samuel Carmona Heredia, aka, the Spaniard.

The backlash against those chiding Paddy for his social media indulgences was in full swing but RTE saw fit to inform their viewers that the Spaniard didn't have a twitter account.

The Sunday Business Post's Jonathan O'Brien wasn't alone in regarding it as an odd dig. Paddy has used his famous twitter account to stick it to the national broadcaster in the past for what he believes is their scant coverage of boxing in non-Olympic years.

It's true. Heredia does not have a twitter account.

But he does have an instagram account, something which will no doubt cost him dearly when he comes up against a fighter with no social media presence whatsoever.
