Last night's super middleweight clash between Andre Dirrell and Jose Uzcategui ended in disgrace.

Dirrell claimed a vacant interim super middleweight world after Uzcategui was disqualified for punching Dirrell after the bell at the end of the eighth round, but remarkably, that proved not to be the biggest sucker punch of the night.

With Dirrell on the canvas, being attended to by the ringside doctor, his uncle Leon Lawson Jr stormed across the ring to confront Uzcategui for his transgression. He sucked punched him - twice - which, according to ESPN's Dan Rafael, nearly ignited a riot within the ring.

The footage of the sequence events is pretty shocking:

Amid the chaos afterward, Rafael reports that Lawson Jr slipped out of the arena, and has gone on the run from police, who want to apprehend him on two charges of assault. Uzcategui was placed under police protection while they searched the arena for Lawson Jr. Uzcategui was then taken to hospital for examination but was released a few hours later.

Dirrell apologised for his uncle's actions:

I'm sorry for what my coach has done. My coach is my family, my uncle, and he was worried. He cares for me. He loves me. Please forgive him.
