Watch: Steve Bunce Rips The Piss Out Of Jason Quigley's 'Californian' Accent

Steve Bunce welcomed Paddy Barnes and Jamie Conlan to the couch for Buncey's Boxing Hour live on Boxnation last night, and the two Irish fighters left he and pundit Barry Jones in absolute stitches.

One point of contention, however, was when the topic changed to Jamie's brother Michael. BoxNation cut to Darragh Bambrick's mini-documentary of the younger Conlan's first foray into training as a professional in Carson, California. The video features undefeated Donegal middleweight Jason 'El Animal' Quigley, alongside whom former Irish teammate Conlan will train at Manny Robles' The Rock Gym.

Quigley asserts of Conlan's influence in the gym that "iron strengthens iron," and suggests Carson might be Ground Zero for an Irish boxing takeover. When the camera cut back to an aghast Steve Bunce, however, it became apparent that something else was playing on the big man's mind.

"Jason Quigley in the gym there with Michael Conlan," Bunce told viewers, before turning to Quigley's old pals in Paddy Barnes and Jamie Conlan.

Now, there was just a little bit of Californian in Jason Quigley's voice there.

Now, you're flying out in a couple of days time. Please, sort that out, because I don't want to hear any of that Wayne McCullough-style stuff coming out of Jason's mouth.

He's Irish, okay? I don't want to be hearing all of that American kind of stuff!

Conlan and Barnes went on to tell Bunce that Michal Conlan has requested that both men refer to him only as 'Mike', or 'Irish Mikey' from now on, perhaps stretching the truth somewhat in the absence of their brother and friend.

But after Quigley's jibing of Barnes on this very website a couple of months ago, you can bet he's in for an earful from 'The Wee Man' when Barnes touches down in California this month.

Quigley, however, was quick to pull Bunce up on his behind-the-back slagging. It would seem they'll settle their differences on Buncey's Boxing Hour in the near future.
